Purpose of Creating this Blog

The purpose of creating this blog is to participate in the SLA initiative 23Things. As information professionals, there is a great need to learn new skills to match industry norms, and benifit by using these new generation tools for ourselves, our organisations, and connect to the world.

Most of these tools are open source, and can work both on the Internet, and also on our Intranets, and thus one can benefit from using these tools.

It is always wiser to first try our hand on the existing open platforms on the Internet, and then try to use them within our organisational Intranets.

I would definitely like to know of similar experiences, both from starters and those who have a few years of experience behind them.

Thanks to SLA for making all this possible.
